Hendry County Florida

Nestled between the south shores of Lake Okeechobee and the northern sawgrass marshes of the Everglades, and the Caloosahatchee River’s winding along the northern county line, Hendry County is the nature of south Florida! From fish to fowl, and farms of many types, the county is fast becoming the place to retreat into a natural habitat.

The 2011 FLW Fishing Tournament proved that Lake Okeechobee was once again the place for bass fishing in the state, and in the country. Records of weight and catch were broken by the pros and added fuel to the fire that the Lake “O” is HOT!

Birders are astounded by the various species of feathered creatures located in Hendry County. The county has been in the top 10 for found species in Backyard Bird Counts for the last five years. And the 2011 Big “O” Birding Festival sighted 139 different species of birds throughout the county.

We’d love to have you taste and see for yourself that Hendry County is the nature of south Florida! Hendry County Florida is nestled by the south shores of Lake Okeechobee and the northern sawgrass marshes of the Everglades.
